Taking the workplace.

So over these past couple of weeks I have made a major discovery: There are a surprising amount of Christians in my workplace! At first I was really excited when someone else told me they were a Christian or asked me what church I went to, but that excitement was quickly dowsed by their unwillingness to talk about God at all for fear being fired for openly expressing their beliefs in God. Know, however, that this mentality didn't come without and reason or cause to fear for their jobs, as it also turns out there are a couple of very outspoken atheists who prey on such conversations by demanding that God not be mentioned or by tearing down anyone who even mentions Him. I witnessed this first hand when I was trying to share something that God had shown me last week to one of my coworkers. Immediately as I brought up the topic her eyes brightened and she began talking about her experiences and different ways God had been moving in her life. After a few minutes of this a harsh tone chimes in, "Why are you talking about this?? I don't appreciate that you are bringing your beliefs where I can hear them, take them somewhere else!" Immediately the brightness in my coworker's eyes faded as she simply looked at me and turned around in defeat saying, "We should really stop talking about this, I could get fired if he files a complaint to a manager." I was overcome with a contradicting mixture of anger and frustration mixed with a deep compassion for my coworker and the outspoken atheist who interrupted our conversation. In my mind I was thinking, "But what better way to pickup our cross today? What better reason to get fired then to talk about our Abba and savior too much? What an opportunity to be persecuted for his name!"  So in my persistence I tried to ease her fear and attempted to continue our conversation but to no avail. When I got home that night I prayed over the people at my work place; that they would be filled with His courage and  grace and that His perfect love would drive out all their fears. By the next day at work I could literally feel God's presence in my coworker and even a shift in attitude! So I began to talk with her even more about what we had been talking about the day before, and she was even more excited about talking about these things than she was yesterday! That day our conversation to sharpen each other spiritually went on for the rest of her shift! After praying over her and with her she suddenly wasn't afraid if anyone could hear what we were saying. Our conversation  became so intense that another one of our coworkers (a non believer) quietly walked over and stood quietly as he wanted to listen to us pour life into each other. Bottom line: God answers prayer, and is always good no matter what. Through this experience he has proved that fear has absolutely no power over us and that I can make an impact on the lives of those I work with through Him. And as these Christians in my workplace have confessed at one point or another that they love Him, God showed them that he loves them more by driving out their fears....

His Power Is Real! And I'm Here To Prove It....

Hello Everyone! If you have found that you have arrived to this page by means of browsing, to peek your curiosity, or even through facebook stalking me I applaud your willingness to give it a try. It's been a very long time since I've been in the blogging game, but better late than never I suppose. First let me begin by telling you a little about myself.... My name is Kyle McKinley, I have lived in Austin Texas my entire life, I love outdoorsy things (hiking, climbing, running, etc...), I am convinced that the friends in my life are far better than I deserve and simply put: I am absolutely, passionately, ravishedly, and fervently in love with God. Now if you're reading this and the last part of that statement bothered you, it is my firm belief hope that you have the ability to reap more from this blog than anyone else. Although for those of you who are all for that statement it is my hope that you are fueled even further, and fall deeper in love with Him through the testimonies of his power!
The idea to actually blog at all came from a dear friend of mine whom I told that i really needed to start blogging again. The actual topic and purpose of this blog was a "brain baby" I had when I was talking to my best friend about putting two white boards in our apartment; one reading "needs" and the other reading "met". The idea is that every time we had a need we would write it down on the "needs" board and whenever we saw it we would pray for those needs and claim them as promises of God. And whenever God would meet those needs, we would put them on the "met" board as a daily reminder and visible testimony of God's ACTIVE goodness and love in our lives. So I thought to myself, "Self, I should blog about the incredible things that God has done in my life, and show everyone how His love works first hand!" Needless to say the idea has put me in a fit of glee, and I am so very glad to finally get this started. To be more clear: The purpose of this blog is to post, on a consistent basis, instances in which the goodness and love of God are abounding based off of the things I both witness and experience, and in turn show how real His love really is. Now you might be thinking to yourself: Oh here we go again, another crazy Christian who convinces themselves that every little thing that happens is a miracle from God. Not so I tell you! Most assuredly I will post about the "little" things as well because they are just as important, but I expect the wall of this blog will be full of things that are far beyond the realm of coincidence as well! Because I feel so strongly that the idea to write about this is inspired by God, I can't help but be overwhelmingly excited about what God is going to do, as well tell everyone what He has already done! Everything from, "I was able to pay my rent this month," to, "God restored a missing limb!" will be posted here, and it will all be a testimony that no matter how big or how small the needs of his children are, He will always show us how he loves us more....
